Biography

Education

Muhammad is a qualified accountant and holds an affiliate status with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA affiliate). His specialisation is in the areas of Audit and Assurance, Corporate Reporting (IFRS) and Advanced Financial Management. He completed his degree from the ANU with a major in Management (6.47 on 7 GPA average) and a successful exchange program with the University of Manchester (1:1 average). He is a recipient of many academic accolades, including the Future Leaders Award  and the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation for Academic Excellence for maintaining a 7 on 7 GPA in the final year of his study. He was also offered a $15000 CBE cash scholarship to commence Honours, however, owing to other commitments was unable to pursue it. He is currently enrolled in Master of International Business (part time) with the Business School (University of Melbourne) on a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)..

Role with the ANU

Muhammad Aunib Zaidi is a sessional academic/researcher (short term- contract based) with the Research School of Management, ANU College of Business and Economics.  His prior research projects include examining refugees' success in securing employment (under the supervision of Prof. Giles Hirst) and investigating international student well-being in the Australian universities (under the supervision of Prof. Prashant Bordia and Associate Prof. Sarbari Bordia). He is currently working as a casual researcher for Dr. Guihyun Park on a project examining Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Role with the Victorian Public Service (full time-ongoing)

Muhammad started his career with the Victorian Public Service (VPS) in the Department of Education and Training. He has previously worked in the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) in the Public Sector Governance team where he looked after Cabinet appointments for Victorian Public Entity Boards. He has also worked in the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) in Agriculture Victoria where his work was primarily based in the area of Food and Fibre exports from Victoria. 

 

Previous experience

He has previously worked in Ernst and Young as an External Auditor/Transaction Advisory Consultant. Some of his notable clients Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), McDonalds, Sanofi Aventis and Eni. He has also worked in the ACT Conservation Council (nominated for an Outstanding Intern Award), UNSW (Nuragili Program) as a tutor for advance business courses, CBE Engaged Learning officer and as a professional trainer with Accounting Resource Centre in Canberra and Melbourne offices.  He is also currently working as a Teaching Assistant with the Melbourne Business School (the University of Melbourne) with Associate Professor. Deshani Ganegoda.
